Sam returned to Surrey after 24 years in the Royal Army Dental Corp to be in an area she has fond memories during her serving days. She brings with her, a wide range of skills and experience both from treating her own patients and also teaching and management. She has worked closely with Orthodontic specialists and  Oral Surgeons but her passion was discovered working as part of a team within the field of Periodontology and working along side Periodontists both in the military and more recently at a private practice.

As a teacher, her roles have included being a dental nurse instructor and Examiner for the Dental Nursing Board as we’ll as presentations to groups in schools and roles such as teaching the teacher, giving her time voluntarily to teach nursing staff in hospital and care homes how to care for patients teeth. She pioneered several successful smoking cessation and weight management clinics.

She loves to see patients improving their dental health and constantly seeks to learn new ways to support this and help patients understand the problems they may be encountering in their mouth. Sam has training in Neuro Linguistic Programming to help patients who are nervous or phobic and in Oral Health Education and Smoking Cessation Counselling and is qualified in additional duties such as tooth whitening.

Sam likes to maintain her fitness believing a healthy body gives a healthy mind and is a  keen horse rider, skier, runner and gym bunny. To her friends she is a social butterfly and loves to try new things. Having served in Germany, Cyprus, England and Kenya, she loves to travel, visiting friends and introducing her daughter to exciting places as they share a love of musical theatre and where they were filmed.
